The NASPAC 2 Part Certification Program Consists of:

An intense, 2 Day Seminar:

In just two days, you’ll learn everything you need to know to become a Certified Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator (CRNAC)!

Advanced level information for Nurse Assessment Coordinators and others who have knowledge of, and experience with, the resident assessment process: The Certification Seminar is designed to teach advanced level theory and critical thinking as related to the practical application of federal regulations.

It includes presentations, interactive discussions, case studies and indepenamination and in your everyday professional work. Although Seminar attendance is not a pre-requisite to the Certification Examination, it is designed to enhance knowledge and skill in preparation for the Examination and in your every day professional work.

CEUs:
Administrators
This educational offering has been reviewed by the National Continuing Education Review Service (NCERS) of the National Association of Boards of Examiners for Nursing Home Administrations (NAB) and approved for 14 clock hours.

Nurses
This activity has been approved by the Maryland Nurses Association, which is accredited as an approver of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation for 14.0 contact hours.

The Certification Examination:

On the morning of the third day, the Certification Examination will be administered by an independent testing agency. The four-hour Certification Examination, based on Federal regulations as contained in the curriculum of the Certification Seminar, will consist of multiple-choice and case study questions.

Candidates for the Certification Examination must meet the following criteria:

  • Current professional licensure as an RN, LPN or ADM.
  • Current employment in a SNF or subacute unit, OR current employment in a related/associated field, OR a minimum of 1,000 hours of active employment within the past 12 months in any of the above areas.
  • Current or recent experience as a Nurse Assessment Coordinator, OR as the individual who is responsible for the coordination, accuracy and the completion of the resident assessment process, OR an individual with active involvement with the above.

Clinicians who pass the Certification Examination will be deemed Certified Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinators.

Certification Review Course

The NASPAC Certification Program consists of:

Continental breakfast will be provided each day of the Review Course. Beverages will be provided for the morning of the Examination. Continental Breakfast and Registration begin at 7:30 a.m. Course Review, for Day One and Day Two begins at 8:30 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. On Day Three, the examination begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 12:00 p.m.
