MDS 3.0 UPDATE! CMS has informed us that the timeline for the implementation of MDS 3.0 has been delayed until 10/1/2010. This preliminary announcement was issued by CMS to various AHCA groups on March 4, 2009 with the formal announcement made during their March 5, 2009 open door forum. In keeping with CMS's request that MDS 3.0 training be placed on hold until closer to it's implementation, NASPAC will be postponing MDS 3.0 training until a later date.

Naspac would like to take this opportunity to remember Executive Director, The Honorable Lyle Williams. His unexpected passing left a void not only for our association, his family, and friends, but also for his colleagues and constituents whose lives he had touched over his long career in public service.

We are thankful to Lyle for his vision in the development of Naspac and bringing us together to address the issues facing health care providers and assuring that we have a voice in the political arena and in Washington, D.C. Through Lyle's representation and leadership, Naspac was recognized by many of the most influential legislators in our nation. For this, Naspac is forever grateful.

Tom Nordquist has accepted the interum position of Executive Director and can be contacted at the new NASPAC email address, naspacinc@gmail.com .

We will keep you posted via our website as to any future changes or additions to our teaching sites, as well as, future opportunities with NASPAC-Briggs University On-Line Courses.

Overview of the Organization

National Association of Subacute and Post Acute Care (NASPAC) continues to revitalize, with an expanded focus, and challenge to lead the way in the post acute care. NASPAC continues to respond to the rapidly evolving integrated network of services in healthcare, reflecting the current needs of its members across the continuum. NASPAC works with policy-makers to address the political challenges of ensuring fair and prompt reimbursement for care providers, strives to excel in the educational and informational needs of this field, and encourages industry research and exchange of ideas concerning healthcare.

Organization Mission and Vision

The mission of this organization is to work collaboratively with industry providers, professionals, and public and private policy-makers to assure access to quality healthcare with adequate reimbursement, while providing high quality educational programs for our providers. Our vision, of high quality post acute care and services coordinated across the continuum with fair and rational reimbursement, is focused on the needs of the patient, rather than on the site of the service delivery. The application of this approach will foster access, quality outcomes, and the most efficient allocation of resources.
